Carlos Telloadministration and logisticsCarlos joined the Yunkawasi team in 2010. He is a biologist specializing in mammals, with extensive field experience in Peru's different ecosystems and regions. His passion for conservation has lead him to work with multiple campesino communities, where he has conducted evaluations needed to create protected areas. In addition, he has trained community members in understanding their biological diversity and translated their research into teaching materials that have been used with both children and adults in environmental education workshops.

fanny M. CornejoProject coordinatorFanny is a founding member of Yunkawasi. She is a biologist specializing in primates and her research has focused on the ecology, diversity and evolution of Peru's primates. In addition, she has contributed to the production of educational material and trained community members in understanding and conserving their natural resources. In recognition of her work she has received the "Sabin Primate Conservation Prize" and the "Orden del Mérito a la Mujer Peruana en la categoría de Actividad Profesional Destacada" (Order of Merit for Peruvian Women in the category of Outstanding Professional Activity) given by the government of Peru.

carlos jimenezOperations coordinatorCarlos is a biologist focused on the study of the systematics and conservation of Peru's mammals. He has more than 10 years of experience studying mammals in different regions and his work has included publishing reports desscribing species new to science. He joined the Yunkawasi team in 2016 and leads the scientific and community development operations.

evelyn paincoordinator for the yellow-tailed woolly monkey projectEvelyn is a biological anthropologist specializing in primate behavior. She has experience working in various countries in Latin America and she joined the Yunkawasi team in 2016. She is directing the permanent project on the yellow-tailed woolly monkey by Yunkawasi, and analyzing hormone samples to understand the effects of human presence on the woolly monkey within Hierba Buena-Allpayacu. In addition, she is involved in writing and applying for funds to support Yunkawasi's projects.

Michael tweddleMichael is a nature photographer and wildlife tourism specialist. He directs photography safaris to observe jaguars in Brazil and writes about wildlife for various media outlets. vanessa lunaVanessa is a biologist from the Agrarian University of Molina in Peru. She is currently working on her Master's degree in Latin American studies at the University of Florida, Gainesville. She has conducted socio-economic and human-wildlife conflict assessments in the campesino communities of Corosha and Chisquilla.

jose la torreJosé is a private conservation specialist, manager and administrator of the ACP Huiquilla in Amazonas. This ACP was the first to be established in the Amazonas region of Peru. Yunkawasi supports conservation actions within the ACP and conducts research on various mammal species there. Get to know the ACP Huiquilla here.
Susana LaySusana got her degree in literary studies at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. She has worked teaching literature in an international Baccalaureate program and as a contributor to various media outlets. She was an editor for Savoteur-Lima, an international magazine, and an independent script writer for Plus TV. She currently works as a travel reporter and directs communications at Ravel Agency, where she is a co-founder, contributor and editor.
